As we get down to the business end in the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership, what better way to launch Round 21 than with a heavyweight showdown between two modern-day giants.

The Roosters and Storm won four premierships between them from 2017-20 before the Panthers started their dynasty and they remain the fiercest of rivals.

With so much at stake the two sides turned on a classic with the Storm getting home 34-30 but losing superstar No.7 Jahrome Hughes to a dislocated shoulder.

The Roosters sit 10th on the ladder but could find themselves four points outside the top eight by the end of the round depending on other results.

The Storm, meanwhile, have climbed to second on the ladder for the time being but will be sweating on news on Hughes and whether his season could be over.
